On December 2nd, 2004, Brian Williams became anchor of “Nightly News,” taking the reins from NBC’s Tom Brokaw.
And Tuesday, NBC News is paying tribute to its evening anchor, starting with the “Today” show.
The morning show ran a montage of some of the best moments from Williams, from the more serious–him reporting from Katrina and interviewing Edward Snowden–to the more lightful: slow jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon.
Today.com also has a top 10 reasons we love Brian Williams list, lauding him for everything from his “cool demeanor,” to his ability to rap the news, to his fearlessness diving “straight to the heart of a story.”
Williams’ “Nightly News” has won the nightly news ratings battle in total viewers for 272 consecutive weeks.
