In the wake of the success of “The Disaster Artist” and the rejuvenated interest in “The Room,” actor-director Tommy Wiseau has shared the first look at his upcoming movie, “Scary Love.”
Wiseau plays a bounty hunter, who rises from the rubble of a failed industrial world in search of love and justice in a population full of mutants, freaks and cannibals.
The synopsis for “Scary Love” is as follows.
In a bleak Los Angeles of the future Tommy Wiseau plays a bounty hunter in search of his long lost love. But while the Wars of Cancellation have turned his city to rubble his search for love is rife with complications in a population full of mutants, freaks, and cannibals. The film is directed by Jennifer Juniper Stratford whose production company Telefantasy Studios has been churning out subversive content for over a decade and gardened its own cult following. Scary Love is her first collaboration with legendary filmmaker Tommy Wiseau and casts him as the leading man. It’s a science fiction tale told in the style of classic B-movies and outfitted with practical special effects, laser beams, and lunatic ideas.
Wiseau will also be seen on the big screen later this year in “Best F(r)iends,” a film written by and co-starring his “The Room” co-star Greg Sestero, and is based partially on their turbulent, two-decade friendship. Sestero wrote the film with Wiseau in mind, telling TheWrap last December that he wanted to show the world that Wiseau can truly act.
The film is directed by Jennifer Juniper Stratford of Telefantasy Studios.
