Ratings: ‘Tough as Nails’ Season Finale Pairs With ‘Big Brother’ for CBS Wednesday Win

NBC, Fox and Univision tie for second place in primetime’s key demo

The Season 1 finale of “Tough as Nails” helped CBS tough out a Wednesday win in primetime’s key-demo ratings. The same could be said in terms of total-viewer averages, though really it was lead-in “Big Brother” that did the heavy lifting in both major Nielsen categories.

CBS was first in ratings with a 0.6 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 3.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Big Brother” at 8 p.m. put up a 1.0/7 and 4.1 million viewers. From 9-11, the “Tough as Nails” Season 1 finale averaged a 0.4/3 and 3 million viewers.

NBC, Fox and Univision tied for second in ratings, each with a 0.4. NBC and Univision got 3 shares, Fox had a 2. NBC was second in total viewers with 3.3 million, Fox was fourth with 1.5 million and Univision was fifth with 1.3 million.

For NBC, the “America’s Got Talent” results show at 8 received a 0.6/4 and 5.4 million viewers. Reruns followed. Fox aired all repeats last night.

ABC and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.3/2. ABC was third in total viewers with 1.6 million, Telemundo was sixth with 1 million.

ABC aired just reruns in primetime.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.1/1 and in viewers with 526,000. Following a repeat, “Coroner” at 9 had a 0.1/1 and 680,000 viewers.
