Ratings: ‘Tough as Nails’ Season Finale Pairs With ‘Big Brother’ for CBS Wednesday Win

NBC, Fox and Univision tie for second place in primetime’s key demo

The Season 1 finale of “Tough as Nails” helped CBS tough out a Wednesday win in primetime’s key-demo ratings. The same could be said in terms of total-viewer averages, though really it was lead-in “Big Brother” that did the heavy lifting in both major Nielsen categories.

CBS was first in ratings with a 0.6 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 3.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Big Brother” at 8 p.m. put up a 1.0/7 and 4.1 million viewers. From 9-11, the “Tough as Nails” Season 1 finale averaged a 0.4/3 and 3 million viewers.
