‘Toy Story’ Live-Action Remake Gets Warm Reception From Fans and Pixar Filmmaker (Video)

"Toy Story" toys and real people reenact the Disney/Pixar film in feature-length YouTube video

"Toy Story" has been remade into a live-action film by two loyal fans and YouTube viewers are welcoming it with open arms.

Using a combination of stop-motion animation and marionette-style puppetry, actual toys (and people) perfectly reenact every moment in the 1995 Disney/Pixar movie to create an impressive feature-length home video, which has attracted nearly 2 million viewers since being uploaded on Jan. 12.

The fan film was produced over the course of two years by Jonason Pauley and Jesse Perrotta of Arizona. Both were hoping the finished product would get the stamp of approval from Pixar and so far, at least one major name involved in the franchise has spoken up.

"Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich has seen it and shared the link with the tweet, "Live action 'Toy Story' (re)made by some VERY dedicated guys."
