‘Narcos’ Season 3: Cocaine Goes ‘Fortune 500’ in First Full Trailer (Video)

Agent Javier Peña must help to take down the Cali Cartel in new season of Netflix drama

Cocaine has gone global and invaded New York City in the first full trailer for “Narcos” Season 3.

Agent Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) is back to help take down the Cali Cartel, which quietly rose to power while everybody was focusing on Pablo Escobar (who you’ll remember was taken out in Season 2). The Cali Cartel runs things a bit differently than Escobar did, choosing to bribe government officials and keep violent acts out of the headlines.

They also opted to run the cocaine cartel like a “Fortune 500 business,” as stated in the trailer, which turned it into a global enterprise.

“Try to go through the Cali bosses, all you’ll get are more bodies,” Peña is warned. “These guys don’t make mistakes.”

Those guys include Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar), who is the leader of the cartel. Then we have his brother Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela (Francisco Denis), hitman Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann) and Chepe Santacruz Londono (Pepe Rapazote), who runs the NYC branch of the cartel.

But luckily, the man who helped to take down Escobar has a plan. “To take down the gentlemen of Cali, you’d have to be crazy, stupid, brave, and lucky all at the same time,” Agent Peña says in voiceover.

Netflix unveiled the trailer in New York City, where this season was partially filmed, on Thursday. The trailer was shown at various locations on a Narcos truck, which is serving white powdered donuts and Columbian coffee to people (get it?)

Season 3 will premiere on Sept. 1. Watch the full trailer above.
