Watch ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Trailer Bring Evil Optimus to Super Bowl LI (Video)

It’s Autobot versus Autobot in the Super Bowl LI teaser for Director Michael Bay’s fifth movie in the franchise, “Transformers: The Last Knight”

Optimus Prime has turned against his fellow Autobots in the Super Bowl LI teaser for director Michael Bay’s fifth and maybe final “Transformers” movie, “Transformers: The Last Knight.”

The teaser adds a bit to the trailer released late last year, which showed a world where humans and Transformers are at war. Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen), the leader of the good Transformers known as the Autobots, has left Earth to search for his creators. As the teaser shows, we know he comes back and, for some reason, he attacks Bumblebee, one of his closest Autobot allies.

There’s not too much new information in the new teaser, but it does seem to expand on Optimus Prime’s role in the story. From “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” we know that Optimus is heading out to find his creators after they sent bounty hunter Lockdown to capture him and other Transformers who form a group called the Knights. Optimus freed them in the last movie but, given the title of this one, it sounds like we won’t necessarily be seeing many more of the Dinobots from “Age of Extinction.”

As for the human side of the equation, Mark Wahlberg is reprising his role as engineer Cade Yaeger from “Age of Extinction,” as is Stanley Tucci as tech industrialist Joshua Joyce. They’re joined by Sir Anthony Hopkins, whose narration features heavily in the teaser.

There are a few returning cast members from earlier movies as well: John Turturro as Agent Simmons, Josh Duhamel as Lt. Col. William Lennox and Tyrese Gibson as Air Force Tech Sergeant Epps.

Bay has teased that this might be his final “Transformers” film in the role of director.
