Trayvon Martin’s Parents’ First Post-Verdict Interviews Set for Morning Show Circuit

Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton will make the morning show rounds Thursday for their first post-trial sit-downs, then head to CNN's Anderson Cooper

Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, parents of slain teenager Trayvon Martin, will make their first television appearances following Saturday's acquittal of George Zimmerman, the man accused of murdering their son.

They'll spend Thursday morning on the sets of "Today," "Good Morning America" and "CBS This Morning," and then it's off to see Anderson Cooper for what should be a much longer, more detailed talk.

Martin and Fulton, who divorced in 1999, were not in the courtroom to see the man who claimed he shot their unarmed son in self-defense declared not guilty for his murder. They've been silent so far about the verdict except for a few tweets.

Immediately after the verdict, Fulton tweeted: "Lord during my darkest hour I lean on you. You are all that I have. At the end of the day, GOD is still in control. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I will love you forever Trayvon!!! In the name of Jesus!!!" and then, on Tuesday, "God is healing my heart this very moment. But as I watch so many people come together, he reminds me that we have a lot of work to do. ‪#‎PeaceProtest‬ ‪#‎TrayvonMartinForever‬"

Martin tweeted: "God blessed Me & Sybrina with Tray and even in his death I know my baby proud of the FIGHT we along with all of you put up for him GOD BLESS," "Thanks to everyone who are with us and who will be with us si [sic] we together can make sure that this doesn't happen again" and "Even though I am broken hearted my faith is unshattered I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY BABY TRAY." Trayvon was on his way to see Martin at his girlfriend's house the night he was killed.

George Zimmerman's parents already made the media rounds, talking to ABC's Barbara Walters on Monday.

It should be no surprise that CNN has gotten one of the first interviews with Martin's parents — since the verdict, the cable news channel has landed interviews with Zimmerman's brother Robert, Jr., prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel and Juror B37.
