Donald Trump believes he would have won the popular vote in the recent presidential election if one threw out the ballots of those who voted illegally. Trevor Noah does not.
The “Daily Show” host called “bulls—” Monday night on our president-elect’s brash Twitter boast, which came about in defense of demands for recounts in three key states that helped decide his electoral college victory.
Some may say the social media outburst falls into the over-defensive category. Noah is one of those people.
Some background: Green Party candidate Jill Stein is spearheading the effort to not give the billionaire businessman the Oval Office just yet.
In addition to allegations of mass-hacks, Stein — who surely took plenty of Hillary Clinton votes herself — says there was “human error” in the tabulation.
“Uh, yeah, we know there was human error — because now he’s president,” Noah quipped on last night’s show.
Of course, Noah saved the most ire for Trump himself.
“And you know Trump only cares about this because the popular vote has the word ‘popular’ in it,” the South Africa-born comedian closed his Thanksgiving-return segment.
You’re probably right, Trev. Watch the video above.
