On Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah got into some of the more awkward, R-rated aspects of the Robert Mueller investigation drama in light of papers the special counsel filed on Friday recommending serious jail time for President Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
Noting that the criminal accusations against Cohen concern paying off women who said they had affairs with Trump, Trevor joked that the line between politics and pornography is becoming extremely thin.
“If you think about it, it’s weird how much politics and porn are overlapping right now. ‘Cause in the future kids will will be doing their American history homework on Pornhub. It’ll be like, ‘Don’t come in, mom, I’m learning about the president!'”
Mueller’s legal filings had many pundits speculating that Trump may have incurred enough legal jeopardy to be indicted and risk jail time. Whether or not that happens, Noah said he’d prefer Trump did no time.
But no, not because he doesn’t think Trump shouldn’t.
“I know many people might want to see Trump in prison, but not me,” Noah said. “Mostly because if you put Trump in a prison jumpsuit, it’ll just look like he’s naked. And why should we be punished for his crimes?”
