Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen is now a focus of the Congressional investigation into Russian interference in the election, but he has declined to cooperate, according to ABC News.

Cohen received an invitation to “provide information and testimony” that pertains to the Russia investigation to House and Senate intelligence committees.

“I declined the invitation to participate, as the request was poorly phrased, overly broad and not capable of being answered,” Cohen told ABC News in an email Tuesday.

Twitter took notice last year when CNN’s Brianna Keilar and Cohen had one of the most memorable exchanges in recent cable news memory after Cohen blew off Trump’s standing in the polls, repeating, “Says who?”

“Well let me ask you about this — so you say it’s not a shake-up, but you guys are down,” Keilar said. “And it makes sense that there would…”

Cohen interrupted, “Says who?”

“Polls. Most of them. All of them,” a visibly confused Keilar replied, to which Cohen again asked, “Says who?”

“Polls. I just told you. I answered your question,” Keilar fired back, to which Cohen asked, “which polls?”

“All of them,” she responded.

Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday amid ongoing investigations that Russia interfered with the election, saying “Russian officials must be laughing” at the Democrats’ “lame excuse” for losing on Election Day.

U.S. intelligence officials have said that Moscow tried to interfere with the 2016 presidential election by hacking Democratic emails — Trump has expressed that it’s simply an excuse for Hillary Clinton supporters.

A special counsel is now investing the alleged ties between Trump’s team and Russia. ABC cites insiders who feel Cohen is essentially Trump’s “pit bull” when it comes to legal matters.
