President Donald Trump took to Twitter Friday to unleash fire and fury at former FBI Director James Comey.

“James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH,” said the president in a tweet.

“He is a weak and untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI. His handling of the Crooked Hillary Clinton case, and the events surrounding it, will go down as one of the worst “botch jobs” of history. It was my great honor to fire James Comey!”

It was Trump’s opening salvo against the former FBI director, who is about to embark on a book tour expected to be widely critical of his former boss.

ABC has been teasing excerpts from its interview between Comey and “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos.

While the interview doesn’t air until Sunday, we already know that Comey has compared Trump to a “mob boss” and said he could not rule out that the president was once peed on by Russian prostitutes in a Moscow hotel room.

“I honestly never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but I don’t know whether the current president of the United States was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013. It’s possible, but I don’t know,” Comey told a stunned Stephanopoulos.

While President Trump may have hoped to derail the Russia investigation by firing Comey, his decision to do so ultimately spurred Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to appoint special counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller and his team have been digging into Trump and his allies without mercy in recent months.
