Trump: I’ll Release My Tax Returns When Obama Releases Birth Certificate

Would-be Republican candidate gets testy in “Good Morning America” interview

Another day, another morning show interview with Donald Trump — this one with ABC's "Good Morning America." Things got testy when George Stephanopoulos brought up the birther issue and, later, Trump's tax returns.

"George, they've co-opted you," Trump told Stephanopoulos when the issue of Obama's birth certificate was raised. "They've co-opted you."

"Who?" Stephanopoulos asked.

"Obviously Obama and his minions."

Trump then claimed issue would not be part of his presidential platform, if he chooses to run.

"This is not a big focus of my campaign," Trump said. "My big focus is China and OPEC and all of these countries that are absolutely destroying the United States."

Stephanopoulos then asked Trump for an update on the independent investigators purportedly working the birther angle for Donald in Hawaii.

Stephanopoulos: Have they found anything?

Trump: That's none of your business. We're going to see what happens. We're going to see what happens. We're going to see what happens?

Stephanopoulos: When?

Trump: Next question, George.

Later, when Stephanopoulos asked Trump if he would release his tax returns as part of a presidential bid, Trump replied, "Maybe I'll do my tax returns when Obama does his birth certificate."

Yeah, definitely not a big focus.
