Trump Seen With Russians Tied to Son’s Emails in Newly Surfaced Footage (Video)

President appears alongside the Agalarov family and publicist Rob Goldstone in video obtained by CNN

In a newly surfaced video, Donald Trump is shown dining alongside several Russian associates connected to his son’s recent email scandal.

The video, obtained by CNN, shows Trump having a meal in 2013 with the Azerbaijani-Russian Agalarov family and their publicist Rob Goldstone, who helped facilitate a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Kremlin-linked lawyer during last year’s presidential campaign.

Aras Agalarov, a billionaire with ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin, and his pop-star son Emin Agalarov previously had business connections to the Trump family relating to the Miss Universe pageant.

CNN reports that the video, which is made up of several clips, was recorded on June 15, 2013 in Las Vegas. The dinner took place on the eve of the Miss USA pageant where it would be announced that the 2013 Miss Universe contest would be held in Moscow. Trump Jr. does not appear in the three-and-a-half minute video.

The video arrives after the New York Times published a story on Monday evening saying that the president’s eldest son was told in an email from Goldstone that a June 2016 meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya, described as “the Crown prosecutor of Russia,” would deliver intelligence to aid his father’s campaign.

The message indicated that the Russian government was the source of the potentially damaging information against Clinton. Trump Jr. said he attended the meeting because he could have potentially received information that was damaging to the Clinton campaign, and mocked the way the media has covered the situation.

“Obviously I’m the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent… went nowhere but had to listen,” the president’s son wrote in a statement on Monday.

When they met, he said the lawyer “stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday night, Trump Jr. described the meeting as “opposition research.” He said his father had no knowledge of the sit-down.

“In retrospect, I probably would have done things a little differently,” he said. “Again, this is before the Russia mania — this is before they were building this up in the press.”
