Valerie Bertinelli and Jane Leeves also star in the half-hour, the first scripted original for the classic TV network

It’s getting "Hot in Cleveland."

TV Land is moving forward with "Hot in Cleveland," a half-hour sitcom starring comedy vets Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.

The network, which has been expanding into originals with reality programming, has ordered 10 episodes of the comedy. It’s the first time TV Land has produced its own sitcom rather than acquire one.

Betty White stars in the pilot episode but she’s not listed among the regular cast. Insiders said TV Land is talking to the suddently red-hot White about appearing in more episodes.

"HIC" stars Bertinelli, Leeves and Malick as LA women who end up moving to an old home in Cleveland. White plays the cranky caretaker of the house.

Suzanne Martin ("Frasier") is the writer/executive producer, with Sean Hayes and Todd Millner of Hazy Mills Productions also producing.

“The talented cast has amazing chemistry and delivers the clever script from a renowned sitcom writer with hilarity and sincerity," TV Land chief Larry W. Jones said.  "This show has enormous potential and we are so excited to be a part of it.”
