TV Land announced Tuesday that it is working on a half-hour single-camera period comedy inspired by the life of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards.
Warner Horizon Television, John Wells Productions and executive producer, writer, and director John Riggi will develop the series.
The project is set in the ’70s and inspired by Richards’ unconventional upbringing by her single mother, who raised Richards and her two sisters.
Riggi will write the pilot script and executive produce along with John Wells (“Shameless,” “ER,” “The West Wing”) and Andrew Stearn (“Shameless,” “Southland,” “The West Wing”). Richards will co-executive produce.
The untitled project centers on Bonnie Nolan, a 40-year-old woman with a beautiful home and three beautiful daughters. After her marriage fails, Bonnie must learn how to support herself and her children.
“I am extremely excited and proud to be collaborating with such a talented and creative team of John Wells Productions, John Riggi, Warner Bros. Television and TV Land to bring this story to life,” Richards said in a press release.
