Tyler Perry and OWN’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” is getting off to a good start for its second season.

Tuesday’s premiere episode was the cable channel’s most-watched premiere episode in network history with 3.22 million total viewers tuning into the 9 p.m. telecast. Additionally, the drama saw a 16 percent increase over Season 1’s premiere episode.

Additionally, it broke OWN records for male viewership where it ranks as the No. 1 telecast in series history and the No. 2 in OWN history across all key male demos.

The drama also popped on social media. According to Nielsen Twitter TV ratings, “The Haves and the Have Nots” ranked as the No. 2 most social series episode of the night for cable and No. 3 across broadcast and cable with 62.5K tweets and 14.4K unique authors.

The premiere wasn’t the show’s most-watched episode, though. That win went to last season’s finale. The network’s most-watched episode ever, 3.6 million viewers watched the drama. And, the episode ranked as the No. 1 program in OWN history among total viewers.

“The Haves and The Have Nots” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on OWN.
