2013 was a big year for “Silicon Valley” star Jimmy O. Yang — he got a SAG card and an iPad, and posted on Instagram about both. In the new Comedy Central’s digital series “Unsend,” we find out what he regrets about those posts — and what he’s standing by.
“Unsend,” hosted by Joel Kim Booster (“Conan,” “The Other Two”) and Patti Harrison (“Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” “A Simple Favor”), debuts Tuesday, March 19, but you can check out Yang’s segment a little early in the video above. Prepare yourself for a merciless exploration of Yang’s deepest Insta-insecurities.
“Unsend” has a strong pedigree in the world of regret. Producer and “Black Monday” star Paul Scheer is well known for the “How Did This Get Made” podcast, in which he, Jason Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael dissect some of cinema’s greatest missteps in excruciating comic detail.
Kim Booster and Harrison are equally comfortable with discomfort. In the “Defend or Delete” segment with Yang, they dissect his posts, down to the hashtags. Harrison tells a deadpan story about Steven Spielberg finding actors on Instagram that we don’t think is true, and Yang draws a defiant line in the sand about the tablet he bought in his early days of #makingit.
