USA Network ‘Facing’ Another Female-Fronted Drama

Basic cable leader greenlights 11 episodes of a legal drama called “Facing Kate”

With TNT’s "Saving Grace" about to end, USA Network has given thumbs up to "Facing Kate."

Basic cable’s top-rated network Sunday announced its latest series pickup via the website of the Hollywood Reporter, with USA programming chief Jeff Wachtel telling the trade paper he’s ordered 11 episodes of "Kate" on top of its 90-minute pilot.

The series, from Universal Cable Productions and Universal Networks International, is an hourlong drama series about a legal mediator. It stars Sarah Shahi and was created by Michael Sardo ("Caroline in the City.")

It’s the second series order this year for USA. In January, Wachtel told the Reporter he was ordering another female-fronted drama, "Covert Affairs."
