Singer and NBC’s “The Voice” coach Usher will take the stage with a live performance during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. Additionally, MTV’s Artist to Watch, 5 Seconds of Summer, will take the VMA stage for the first time.

“Performing live is the purest form of musical expression and I am damn happy to return to the VMA stage with new music,” Usher exclaimed in a statement.

He definitely knows the event well. Some of Usher’s most memorable VMA experiences include 2010’s mix of “OMG” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” and 2004’s mashup of “Confession” and “Yeah,” which featured Ludacris and Lil Jon.
