Variety.com Launches Redesign

Variety.com launched a re-designed site Wednesday afternoon. Variety president and publisher Neil Stiles said the new look was launched in response to users’ requests for a more streamlined look.

"The site was looking cluttered and we needed to clean it up a bit," Stiles said. "There is no new content. We feel it is better organized."

Stiles told TheWrap yesterday that Variety is developing new paid content for the site that will assist industry professionals in their day-to-day operations. Fifteen staffers at the trade were laid off yesterday due to a mandate from parent company, Reed Business Information, to cut seven percent of its total staff.
