‘Veep’ Actor Nelson Franklin Joins CBS’s ‘The Millers’

The actor steps into the recast role of Adam on the new comedy from "Raising Hope" executive producer Greg Garcia

The casting arrives after producers decided to recast the roles of Adam and wife Debbie, which was filled recently by "Glee" actress Jayma Mays

Adam is the brother-in-law to Will Arnett's Nathan Miller. Adam and Debbie also have a daughter, Mykayla (Eve Moon)

The comedy, which will air Thursdays this fall, follows newly divorced reporter Nathan (Arnett) whose mother, Carole (Margo Martindale) moves in with him after her marriage to his father, Tom (Beau Bridges) ends after 43 years. Meanwhile, Tom latches on to Nathan's sister, Debbie and Adam.

The cast also includes JB Smoove, who plays Nathan's best friend and cameraman.

Franklin has played recurring roles on HBO's "Veep," Fox's "New Girl," and NBC's "The Office." His film credits include "Jobs," "Argo" and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.
