Former Paramount Vantage exec will take charge of the production company’s slate, which has recently included “Source Code” and “Larry Crowne”

Former Paramount Vantage executive Guy Stodel has been named president of production for Vendome Pictures, the company announced Wednesday.

Reporting to Vendome CEO and president Philippe Rousselet, Stodel will oversee the development and production of Vendome's upcoming film slate.

Vendom is the production company behind such recent titles as the Summit sci-fi sleeper hit "Source Code," as well as Universal's Tom Hanks/Julia Roberts romantic-comedy bomb "Larry Crowne."

In 2009, Stodel ran the now-shuttered Paramount Vantage after being appointed executive VP of production and acquisitions.

Los Angeles, CA  October 19, 2011 – Venerable production executive Guy Stodel has been named President of Production of Vendome Pictures.  Reporting to Vendome’s CEO and President Philippe Rousselet, and Vendome’s Co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi, Stodel will oversee the development and production of Vendome’s upcoming slate of films.  Stodel will also continue to ramp up the company’s slate with the goal of putting two to three international, commercial and unique movies together per year.

“I am very happy to have Guy join our company,” said Rousselet.  “He is very well respected by filmmakers, and I believe this makes him a perfect match to Vendome whose goal has always been to create a unique and talent friendly environment.  His experience, his good taste, and his personal qualities will help Vendome grow tremendously.”

Stodel stated, “I’m excited to work with Philippe and Fabrice at Vendome.  I’ve admired their passion, good taste, and commercial instincts for some time now and look forward to putting Vendome’s existing projects and new ones into production.”

Stodel joins Vendome after spending the last two years as an independent producer setting up several high profile film and television projects including the American remake of the French comedy LE MAC starring Ed Helms.  In 2009, Stodel ran Paramount Vantage after being appointed Executive Vice President of Production and Acquisitions for the company in July 2008.  During his time at Paramount Vantage, Stodel created a production slate, headed up acquisitions for the division, and was responsible for the day-to-day operations.  He oversaw Paramount’s worldwide acquisitions business of acquiring films for all other Paramount territories and creating local language productions.  During his time at Paramount, Stodel most notably bought and developed the script MAN ON A LEDGE that is now being released by Summit Entertainment.
