‘Veronica Mars’ Series Revival Might Happen on Hulu

Star Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas set to return if deal closes at streamer

Your prayers have been answered Marshmallows!

A “Veronica Mars” revival series is in the works at Hulu with series star Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas set to return, an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap. No deal is in place between studio Warner Bros and the streamer.

Both Hulu and Warner Brothers declined TheWrap‘s request for comment.

Last October, Bell (now starring on NBC’s “The Good Place”) offered an optimistic update on a revival, while helping former co-star Ryan Hansen promote his YouTube Red series “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television” during a Facebook Live interview.

“We are willing to put the effort in — I mean, if I have to do it as ‘Murder She Wrote’ at 80, we’re going to do it,” Bell said while on the phone with Hansen after he called her during the interview. “It’s going to happen,” she added.

Bell starred as the titular spy character on the series, which followed a California teen sleuth and student who led a second life as a private investigator under the guidance of her detective father (Enrico Colantoni). “Veronica Mars” debuted in 2004 and ran for two seasons on UPN, then jumping to The CW for one season before getting the axe.

Entertainment Weekly first reported the revival news.
