VH1 has laid off 11 staffers on its East Coast development and production team.

Programming and development vice presidents Brad Abramson and Kari McFarland are among the individuals who’ve been let go, a network representative told TheWrap.

Nina Diaz, who was just hired last month as the East Coast production and development senior vice president, intends to build a new team by filling the vacant positions, looking for new skill sets and hiring individuals who will work more with development for the VH1 app.

VH1 issued the following statement on Tuesday:

With ratings on an upswing and the pace of development increasing cross platform, we felt it was the right time to examine our overall production and development structure in New York. It’s imperative we accurately structure our teams to deliver the content that our growing number of viewers want from VH1 today.

Before joining VH1 in the exec role, Diaz was a showrunner and producer with credits including VH1’s “Mob Wives” and Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
