Viacom Announces Quarterly Dividend for Shareholders

While stock prices dropped to $68.20, a surplus of $0.33 was offered to stockholders

Viacom had good news and bad news in its quarterly report to investors on Thursday,  annoucning a cash dividend.

A payout of $0.33 will be available April 1. While a dividend payment typically signifies a healthy company, stock prices are currently down 6.1 points in this reported quarter, to $68.20 per share.

The drop comes after reports that Dish Network may drop Viacom channels including MTV, Comedy Central and Vh1.

Other Viacom properties include  CMT, Logo, BET, CENTRIC, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., TeenNick, Nicktoons, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, TV Land, and SPIKE.
