Village Voice Names Scott Foundas Chief Film Writer

Scott Foundas will join the Village Voice as its chief film writer, the alt-weekly said Wednesday.

Getty ImagesFoundas, a four-year former film editor for the Voice's sister paper in Los Angeles, LA Weekly,  spent the last three year as the associate program director at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York. He starts on Dec. 3.

"I've long admired Scott Foundas' film writing and I'm delighted to be able to work with him again," Christine Brennan, the Voice Media Group's executive editor, said in a statement. "Scott is a formidable critic and a great addition to the film coverage our papers are known for."

Foundas' film reviews will be syndicated across all of the media group's publications, which covered more than 750 films last year, according to a press release.

"I am thrilled to be returning to the world of weekly movie reviewing and feature writing," Foundas said in the release. "The VMG team of film critics publishes exceptional work — always lively and thought-provoing — and I look forward to working alongside them.
