Kal Penn is heading to “Battle Creek.”
The “House” alum has been cast in the upcoming CBS series “Battle Creek,” from “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan and “House M.D.” boss David Shore.
The series centers on two detectives with very different world views. After they’re teamed up, the detectives must answer the question: Is cynicism, guile and deception enough to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan in the face of a complete lack of resources; or is the exact opposite true – that it takes naïveté, trust and a boatload of resources?

Penn will play a local detective, not one of the pair, who loves being a Battle Creek cop.
Gilligan and Shore are writing and executive producing the series, with Shore serving as showrunner.
