Viola Davis Loads up in New Trailer for Steve McQueen’s ‘Widows’ (Video)

Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Erivo and Liam Neeson also star in new thriller

Viola Davis rallies a crime team of her own to avenge her husband’s death in the second trailer for Steve McQueen’s new thriller “Widows.”

“You have no idea, do you?” a victim of her late husband tells her. “Or did you choose not to know? Your husband stole $2 million from me!”

Davis plays a woman in present-day Chicago who joins forces with three other women (Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Erivo) whose husbands also died while owing significant sums to criminal types.

The quartet decides to take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms — donning masks, loading guns and generally behaving like guys typically do in crime thrillers.

“I’m the only one who is standing between you and a bullet in your head,” Davis tells the other three ladies.

“Widows” also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Daniel Kaluuya, Lukas Haas and Brian Tyree Henry.

McQueen also produced along with Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Arnon Milchan. McQueen wrote the film with “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn based on the novel by Lynda LaPlante.

“Widows” hits theaters on Nov. 16.
