Apple’s ‘Visible: Out on Television’ Trailer Will Put Tears in Your Eyes (Video)

TCA 2020: We see you

Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for “Visible: Out on Television” Sunday at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. Keeping with our vision-pun theme, we can assure you that it is a highly watchable preview.

The five-part television event, which is executive produced by Ryan White, Jessica Hargrave, Wanda Sykes and Wilson Cruz, investigates the importance of TV as an intimate medium that has shaped the American conscience, and how the LGBTQ movement has shaped television, according to Apple’s description.

Combining archival footage with interviews with key players from the movement and the screen, the documentary series is narrated by Janet Mock, Margaret Cho, Asia Kate Dillon, Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Waithe. Each hour-long episode will explore themes such as invisibility, homophobia, the evolution of the on-screen LGBTQ character, and coming out in the television industry.
