"The Voice" isn't going anywhere for a while — no matter who's sitting in the coaching chairs.
NBC renewed its hit singing competition for a fourth and fifth cycle Monday, ensuring that the show will run through the spring and fall of next year.

The fact that the show would receive a fourth cycle is not surprising. For one thing, the show has been a big success for NBC — its third season, which premiered two weeks ago, has been averaging a 4.5 and 4.3 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic on Mondays and Tuesdays, respectively.
For another thing, it was announced earlier this month that "Hips Don't Lie" singer Shakira and R&B star Usher would be filling in for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green for the show's upcoming spring cycle. (Aguilera and Green are taking time off to focus on their music careers; Shakira and Usher will join remaining "Voice" coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

“This pickup will assure the many dedicated ‘Voice’ fans that this innovative show will continue to bring some of the most talented new voices to the world’s attention through all of next year,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said.
“With the addition of Usher and Shakira as rotating coaches to join Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and Blake in the next cycle, we know that this incredibly addictive program will remain even more relevant as we move forward through this exciting season. My hat is off to [executive producers] John de Mol, Mark Burnett, and everyone who produces this classy and highly entertaining show for us.”
