‘Walking Dead’ Revived in Funny Or Die Zombie-Centered Recap (Video)

“The Walking Fred” series debuted Tuesday on the Will Ferrell’s comedy channel

The undead finally have a voice.

Funny Or Die brought the dead back to life when the Will Ferrell-owned comedy channel premiered “The Walking Fred” on Tuesday, a “Walking Dead” recap show that shines a light on the zombies themselves.

The new series is hosted by Fred (Luke Barnett), an enthusiastic zombie extra on AMC’s hit horror series, who wears full prosthetics and shoots his recaps on “The Walking Dead’s” set.

“It’s kind of like ‘The Talking Dead,’ except with a more handsome and, would you say, charming host,” Fred explains.

The premiere episode begins with Fred rehashing Carol’s (Melissa McBride) storyline from Sunday’s “Walking Dead” episode, but the host quickly grows weary of the “boring human stuff.”

“Ugh, humans talk so much,” he says, fast-forwarding through dialogue-heavy scenes.

His recap is light on human moments, but it does include several epic zombie deaths and a variety of fun facts about the walkers. For example, did you know that the undead have trouble with zippers?

Carly Craig (“Role Models”) co-stars on the Funny Or Die series as a “Walking Dead” production assistant and Fred’s on-set handler. Directed by Vincent Masciale, the series promises to eventually include celebrity guest appearances from actual “Walking Dead” cast and crew.
