Wang In the Money at ABC

Network names veteran executive president of sales. She replaces longtime chief Mike Shaw

Longtime ABC staffer Geri Wang has been named president of sales and marketing for the network, replacing the departed Mike Shaw.

Shaw announced his exit last November. Wang had been part of Shaw’s team, serving as senior VP of primetime sales for ABC.

Wang will now report to Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney/ABC Television Group. She’ll be responsible for selling all things ABC, as well as SoapNet.

“Since joining the company in 1990, Geri has proven herself to be a fierce advocate for ABC, someone who understands the value of our network and who has developed the skills and relationships necessary to ensure that value is fully recognized by the marketplace," Sweeney said. "She’s earned this promotion.”
