Warner Bros. and TV4 Group Sign Scandinavian TV Distribution Deal

TV4 Group will have the exclusive free-TV and basic cable rights to broadcast several WB TV shows and movies

Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has signed a multi-year output deal with the TV4 Group that gives the Scandinavian broadcaster the free-TV and basic cable rights to a slew of WB programming. 

TV4Group licensed new TV shows from the 2011-12 season and several recent films including "Inception," "Sherlock Holmes" and the "The Blind Side." The deal also gives TV4 Group the license to broadcast some older films and TV shows as well as some upcoming film releases including "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Parts I and II),” “The Hangover 2” and “Green Lantern.”

The deal was announced Tuesday by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution's president Jeffrey Schlesinger and TV4 Group's head of acquisitions Clara Scherman. It is WBITD's first exclusive deal in the Scandinavian region with a single . 

“This is a groundbreaking deal for us in Scandinavia and a bold move by TV4 … The fact that we have aligned with TV4 across several countries is a sign of our confidence in them and an indication that their faith in Warner Bros to deliver superior commercial programming that will drive ratings and appeal to audiences in the region," Schlesinger said.
