Jessica Schell has been named Executive Vice President and General Manager of Film at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the company announced Thursday. She joined Warner Bros. this week and will report to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment President Jim Wuthrich.

In her new role, Schell will assume global responsibility for all operations related to the sales, marketing, distribution, finance and administrative functions of the studio’s film-based home entertainment releases, including both new theatrical titles and catalog films.

“Jessica has a strong background in new media and digital entertainment, which will be crucial to her new role as our industry focuses on transitioning consumers to digital media usage and ownership,” Wuthrich said in a statement. “She’s a great addition to our team, and I look forward to working with her.”
