Lando Calrissian, though never a Jedi, was nonetheless able to use the ultimate Force — Disney’s brand synergy — on “Dancing with the Stars.”

At 76-years-old and sporting a history of hip ailments and surgeries, the actor isn’t the most spry contestant we’ve seen on the show, and that’s why the charm of nostalgia is so important to his chances to win. On the opening night of competition, he certainly tapped into the enduring love for “Star Wars” to enhance his act, aided by the fact that ABC now has the same parent company as Lucasfilm.
