Watch Dwayne Johnson and Jimmy Fallon Bring a Military Family to Tears (Video)

“Moana” star helped facilitate reunion between wife and husband who was deployed thousands of miles away

Actor — and aspiring politicianDwayne Johnson brought together a military family in a tearful reunion on Friday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Fallon had the mountain-sized leading man on his show to talk about Johnson’s new movie, “Moana,” an animated Disney tale about a Polynesian girl who sets sail to reunite with a demigod to help save her people.

On Fallon’s show, Johnson helped bring about a different kind of reunion — one involving one of the show’s producers, Karina Kabalan, a veteran whose husband was currently deployed thousands of miles away.

At the end of Johnson’s interview, he told Fallon “if we ever have the opportunity to give back to our troops, I think we all should,” before the two worked their way through the studio audience jokingly looking for the lucky person to be reunited with his or her loved one. Then, they went into the show’s control room, where Johnson asked “Where’s Karina?”

When he locates her, Johnson lets Kabalan know that he is aware of her service and how she met her husband, an Air Force master sergeant, in Iraq. The two hug and, as Johnson continues his spiel, Kabalan’s husband, Todd, appears behind her in the control room. Johnson tells Kabalan he and Fallon “just wanted to thank you and your husband for your service and your sacrifice,” and then tells her to turn around and hug her husband.

The emotional reunion is too much for Fallon, who wipes a tear from his eye. The four end with a group hug.
