Watch The ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Premiere Red Carpet Live Stream (Video)

Star-studded event at the Pantages Theatre has shut down Hollywood Boulevard

“Star Wars” fans around the world can catch up with the stars of the franchise’s latest film, Disney-Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” via a live stream from Saturday night’s red carpet premiere at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre.

The red carpet event, which is expected to feature appearances and interviews with several of the film’s headliners and other Hollywood luminaries, starts at 5 p.m. PT, prior to the world premiere of the film. Several blocks of Hollywood Boulevard were shut down — and an X-Wing fighter was parked on the street — to prepare for the premiere.

“Star Trek” actor Wil Wheaton was the first celebrity interviewed on the stream, wishing he could only tell “seven-year-old me” that he’d be walking the red carpet at a “Star Wars” premiere.

“Rogue One” is a standalone film in the “Star Wars” universe, taking place before the first “Star Wars” film. Gareth Edwards directed the movie, which stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.

“Rogue One” hits theaters Dec. 16, and is expected to bring in as much as $150 million during its opening weekend. That would be the third-highest of any movie this year, trailing only “Captain America: Civil War” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
