Justin Kirk is going to the Middle East for FX.
The actor has signed on to co-star on the drama pilot, "Tyrant," a network representative told TheWrap.
Kirk will play an American diplomat named John Tucker, who is described as "sexy, decadent" and "with a hidden agenda."

Executive produced by "Homeland's" Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff, as well as "Six Feet Under's" Craig Wright, the pilot follows an unassuming American family that's drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Raff created the pilot, which was developed by Gordon and Wright.
This will be Kirk's return to television after starring on the canceled NBC sitcom "Animal Practice." Previously, he starred on all eight seasons of Showtime's "Weeds." His TV credits include "Jack & Jill," "Modern Family," the miniseries "Angels in America."
He is represented by UTA and Management 360.
