“Westworld” star Thandie Newton is in talks to join the Han Solo standalone film, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Donald Glover, Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson also costar in the film.

The untitled Han Solo film, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is set for a release in 2019. Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur are producing the spinoff film.

Newton most recently starred in HBO’s “Westworld” as Maeve Millay, which she will reprise for the show’s second season. Her other most recent credits include “2012,” “Good Deeds” and “The Pursuit of Happyness.”

The last film in the “Star Wars” franchise, “Rogue One,” crossed the $1 billion worldwide box office benchmark and has grossed over $500 million at the domestic box office. Last month, the title for this year’s “Star Wars” film was revealed; it will officially be known as “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and will premiere in theaters on Dec. 15.

Plot details for “The Last Jedi” are scarce, but director Rian Johnson previously said that it will delve into the journey that Rey (Daisy Ridley) will take as she begins her training under Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). He said that Luke will be the “emotional entry point” into the film and that he will explore what empowers the newcomers from “The Force Awakens” and what makes them weak.

Newton is represented by WME and ID PR.
