‘What Men Want’ Trailer: Taraji P Henson Can Read Your Mind, Guys (Video)

“Empire” star’s newest big-screen project arrives in January

Careful what you’re thinking, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard): Fellow “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson (she plays Cookie on the Fox drama) can read men’s minds in the trailer for “What Men Want,” which was released on Tuesday.

In the Paramount Pictures feature-length comedy, which is a reimagining of 2000’s Mel Gibson movie “What Women Want,” Henson’s Ali gets passed over for a well-deserved promotion at work. Yeah, a dude made partner at their sports agency firm instead.

After drinking a mysterious tea and bumping her head, Ali wakes up able to hear men’s inner thoughts, which leads to some uncomfortable interactions with her doctor and assistant — the latter guy you might recognize as “Silicon Valley’s” Big Head (Josh Brener).

Eventually, Ali harnesses the newfound power for good — or at least, for the good of her uphill career battle in the male-dominated field.

Watch the trailer above. “What Men Want” also stars Tracy Morgan, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Aldis Hodge, Max Greenfield and Jason Jones. Per the official preview, moviegoers can also expect to see plenty of sports stars making cameos, like Shaquille O’Neal, Grant Hill and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

Find out what men (apparently) want when the movie opens in theaters on January 11, 2019.
