After striking box office gold with “Iron Man,” “The Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Marvel faces its biggest test yet with “Ant-Man,” which hits theaters this Friday following a very public development process that included the departure of director Edgar Wright.
Marvel has a lot riding on such a small superhero, but as star/co-writer Paul Rudd proves, size only matters so much. “Ant-Man” has big laughs, big insects and most importantly, big heart.
In this week’s What’s the Deal? with Jeff Sneider, TheWrap‘s vacationing film reporter offers his take on why “Ant-Man” works and how director Peyton Reed, co-writer Adam McKay and Kevin Feige rescued a film that was on the brink of disaster according to some pessimistic corners of the press.
Watch the video below and leave a comment after you’ve seen “Ant-Man” to let Sneider know how it measures up to other Marvel movies.
