Syfy announced Wednesday that it has renewed "Ghost Hunters" for an eighth season of 20 new episodes, to debut in 2012.
The seventh season is currently winding down and has drawn in 1 million adults 18-49.
The long-running series is hosted by Rhode Island plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who moonlight as paranormal investigators.
In an eerie coincidence timed to the renewal news, a fresh, hour-long episode airs Wednesday at 8pm, when the team looks into a case involving the Pacific Aviation Museum in Hawaii.
