When the topic of impeachment came up on ABC’s “The View” on Monday, Whoopi Goldberg had a message for co-host Meghan McCain: “Girl, stop talking.”

Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar were discussing administration officials’ refusal to testify in the hearings in President Donald Trump’s impeachment proceedings, which Hostin called “the height of hypocrisy” compared to how Republicans handled the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.

McCain argued and it got heated, prompting her to question whether the other hosts even wanted her “conservative perspective on this show, ever.”

“Girl, please stop talking,” pleaded Goldberg, to which McCain suggested she would just not speak for the remainder of the program.

“I’m okay with that,” Goldberg conceded.

The hosts continued to argue over who had spoken over or ignored whom.

McCain tweeted after the show, “Dems and Rs alike need to confront the ugly truth: both parties are failing to be impartial jurors. I won’t be quiet, even if the reality reflects poorly on the entire political establishment. I have a responsibility to speak for the 50% that feels media doesn’t represent them.”

She commented in a second tweet, “Pointing out things that are true is part of my job even if it angers people and even if it’s politically inconvenient.”
