The CW has renewed “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.”
The announcements were handed out on Tuesday prior to the young-skewing broadcast network’s Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour afternoon. New seasons of both series will debut in 2016.
Also revealed on Tuesday, Britney Spears will guest star on Season 2 of CW’s “Jane the Virgin.”
“Whose Line” (pictured above) is hosted by comedian Aisha Tyler and features cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie. A special guest comic joins the gang each week for improv games. Tyler somewhat arbitrarily assigns points to the performers based on their spontaneous comedy.
The series is executive produced by Dan Patterson, Mark Leveson, Jimmy Mulville, Stiles and Brady. Patterson and Leveson co-created the show, which is from Angst Productions and Hat Trick Productions.
“Fool Us” is a one-hour magic competition series featuring duo Penn & Teller. The show is hosted by Jonathan Ross and created and produced by 117 Productions and September Films. Penn Jillette, Teller, Peter Adam Golden and Andrew Golder are executive producers.
