Your favorite fake commentators are coming back to the air. Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will reprise their characters Cord and Tish to cover the royal wedding.
Ferrell and Shannon first played the chipper TV personalities Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan in a live special for Funny Or Die and Amazon Prime covering the Rose Bowl Parade. Their quippy one-liners and off-the-cuff remarks added spice to the New Year’s Day parade, and now the duo will cover the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live on HBO.
The video above shows a flustered and claustrophobic Cord trapped in a red British phone booth before escaping and laughing about it.
“Do we have any WD40 around here? I’m not getting back in that death trap,” Cord says with a smile in the teaser video.
The special is produced by Funny Or Die, executive produced and written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele, alongside producer Shannon. Funny Or Die’s Mike Farah and showrunner Bellamie Blackstone are also executive producers.
“The Royal Wedding Live With Cord and Tish! will air on HBO on Saturday, May 19 at 7:30 a.m. ET and will be rebroadcast in prime time at 9:45 p.m. ET.
