Will Ferrell reminded viewers that Ron Burgundy is just a fictional character when he appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” as himself.
He not only used the time to tell personal anecdotes (that didn’t revolve around Burgundy), but sang the classic holiday tune “Christmas Time Is Here” with the Vienna Boys Choir.

Paramount and Ferrell pulled off some pretty great publicity stunts — including a stretch of Dodge Durango commercials — but there were a lot of them, so it’s nice to see Ferrell’s fictional newsman alter ego didn’t get completely take over his life.
