Will Smith Teams Up With an Orc in NSFW Trailer for Sci-Fi Cop Movie ‘Bright’ (Video)

David Ayer’s new movie premieres on Netflix on December 22

Will Smith teams up with the police force’s first orc cop (Joel Edgerton) in the first trailer for “Bright,” a sci-fi spin on the mismatched cop genre that premieres on Netflix in December.

David Ayer’s movie is set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. But the orcs look to be very much the underclass in the new movie, and Smith’s curse-filled comparisons of the species to Shrek in the new trailer underscore the divide.

Ward (Smith) and Jakoby (Edgerton) embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

The film also stars Noomi Rapace (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”), Lucy Fry (“11.22.63”), Edgar Ramirez (“Hands of Stone”), Margaret Cho (“Drop Dead Diva”), and Ike Barinholtz (“Suicide Squad”).

The movie is written by Max Landis (“Chronicle)” and produced by Ayer, Eric Newman (“Narcos”) and Bryan Unkeless (“The Hunger Games”).

“Bright” is due to premiere on Netflix on December 22. Watch the trailer above.
