William Hung, Sanjaya and Other ‘American Idol’ Alums Parody ‘We Are the World’ (Video)

Even winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard show up for Jimmy Kimmel

(Spoiler alert: Please don’t read on if you haven’t watched Monday’s season finale of “American Idol”)

Sorry, ABC’s inaugural “American Idol” winner Maddie Poppe — you’ve already been outshined. On Monday, Jimmy Kimmel brought together a bunch of forgotten “Idol” alums like William Hung, Sanjaya Malakar, Chewbacca Girl, and the “Pants on the Ground” guy, “General” Larry Platt, for an all-star parody performance of “We Are the World.”

With all due respect (there’s not too much due here, right?) to Sanjaya, there were also some actual good singers in the mix — even winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard showed up for the gag.

Antonella Barba, Kevin Covais, Haley Reinhart, Scott MacIntyre, and Reynaldo Lapuz also participated in the pre-taped sketch. Be honest, reader: How many of them do you actually remember?

Anyway, the entire premise was one big “Where are they now?” We can answer that question for a few of them: Sanjaya works in a bar and Lapuz in a warehouse. Meanwhile, MacIntyre is on his second kidney transplant, while Covais voices “Chicken Little.”

Oh, and ladies, Hung is both single and on Snapchat — so, look him up?

Watch the video above, and be sure to stick around for ex-judge Randy Jackson’s cameo at the end.

Hopefully, Poppe doesn’t have to take part in this in a few years. Read more about her big victory here.
