William Shatner will guest star on the live season premiere of TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland." We're going to resist the urge to make a hacky "boldly going there" joke.
The episode will air live on the east coast at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19. Three hours later, the west coast will get the live-to-tape version.
Referring to "Hot in Cleveland" star Betty White, William Shatner joked, "At long, long last, I am working with someone who is older than me."
The premiere will open where the winter finale left off – with Joy (Jane Leeves) discovering what Elka (White) and Mamie (Georgia Engel) have been up to. Whatever it is, it's illegal and dangerous.
"There will be mobsters, mistaken identities, special guest stars, and twists and turns," TV Land said.
Shatner is not a newbie to the live-performing world – he’s had an extensive theater career. He has also hosted “Saturday Night Live.”
Brian Baumgartner, best known for playing Kevin Malone on "The Office," will also guest star in the live episode.
