WME-IMG has acquired a majority stake in Bloom, a film finance and production company owned by Ken Kao and Mark Walton.

The agency did not disclose financial terms. The deal does not include Kao’s other production companies, Waypoint Entertainment and Arcana, where he’s partnered with Ryan Gosling.

Bloom will remain an independent entity handling finance, production and international sales, but will benefit from the full force of the agency’s resources. WME-IMG adds another piece in an international sales apparatus that covers everything from feature films and television to sports and music. Earlier this month, the agency secured a $1.1 billion investment led by a Canadian pension plan and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund which it said would be used to grow the business.

The finance firm is an investor in several films premiering during the fall festival season, including Paramount’s “Suburbicon,” directed by George Clooney and starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore and “Hostiles,” directed by Scott Cooper and starring Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike, which is a for-sale title at Toronto.

Bloom’s other future titles include , Lionsgate’s “Dragged Across Concrete,” with Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn starring as corrupt cops, “Book Club,” headlined by Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Candice Bergen, Jared Leto’s “The Outsiders,” and “Bel Canto,” starring Moore and Ken Watanabe.
